One open question that has worried many is whether recovering from the disease, or getting vaccinated, offers any long-term protection. The data has been unlimited , unsurprising given the fact that we don’t have much experience with this virus, and there have been reports of people getting infected twice.
From what I understand of this blog post, which is technical but written well enough to be comprehensible to ignorant people like me, is that recent studies are showing that long-term immunity is indeed still possible, perhaps even probable.
Still early, obviously, but the difference between 2-3 years of societal disruption and decades is not insignificant .
(Of course, if we could just agree to wear masks, we’d probably be looking at an economic recovery next year, but clearly selfishness and politics are making that improbable.)

National Geographic had an interesting article about the history of pandemics. I think what makes this one interesting is it’s the first one in recent history that has really hit the developed world hard. Looking at the overall history of human-kind, we’ve collectively survived some nasty stuff.

People are being reinfected though and everything that's come out, while true likely at the time and with the variables they used, has evolved. I absolutely don't subscribe to its all lies but just I don't have much hope when possible good news comes out now

There was a study from King’s College awaiting peer review that found antibody levels drop after a month or so. T cells will still help you fight disease, but the immune system is much more complicated than that blog lets on.

Yeah, the primary sources are not quite making those conclusions, which might be a bit of a leap
